An oasis for golfers on the edge of the Thar Desert
Our Story
PSRTA Golf Club—formally the Pebble & Sand Recreational Training Area (PSRTA)—began as a Border Security Force (BSF) recreational initiative on Bikaner’s Jaipur Road. Over the years, it has evolved from a modest practice loop into a friendly, semi-private club that welcomes BSF personnel, civilians, visiting golfers, and junior players alike. The club’s military roots instill a spirit of discipline and camaraderie, while its open-door philosophy nurtures the growing golf culture in western Rajasthan.
The Course
Carved among shifting dunes, hardy khejri trees, and the occasional desert lake, PSRTA offers a distinctive 10-hole desert layout (rated 4.3/5 on Hole19) that can be enjoyed as an 18-hole round via alternate tees and pin positions. Firm, sand-belt style fairways reward bump-and-run creativity, while manicured sand-greens (recently over-seeded with drought-tolerant grass) ensure year-round play despite Bikaner’s arid climate.

Conscious of its desert setting, the club irrigates fairways with treated grey water, employs solar pumps for the borewells, and landscapes with native flora to preserve habitat and minimise the draw on Bikaner’s water table.

From school-holiday clinics to charity scrambles that fund local health camps, PSRTA prides itself on giving back to Bikaner. Our vision is to expand to a full-length 18-hole championship layout, create a centre of excellence for junior golfers across Rajasthan, and position Bikaner on India’s golf-tourism map.
